Gallery of PORTRAIT, STILL LIFE & LANDSCAPE Art
A love of the landscape originated from my family vacations, which almost always took us camping, often in the national & state parks.
The intricacy of the play of light on mountains, trees & water always grabs and holds my attention. So many aspects are fascinating and that is what I strive to communicate.
I have always been fond of still life paintings.. Every once in a while I find a set up that I can't resist painting. I've also done a few that have no category as yet.
I really enjoy painting people but it is, again, secondary to painting animals and I don't spend a lot of time doing it. I do get a thrill from coming up with a piece that shows not just a likeness but the character.
I seldom do commissions but if the subject, medium & especially time frame feels right I enjoy doing them. I often do colored pencil animal portrait vignettes.
These paintings are all sold & in private collections
